Merry Christmas! Today, I start my first blog post on my personal website. I’ve been waiting a long time to buy my name’s domain. I guess this is a Christmas gift to myself, haha 🙂
I’ve spent the last week or two consulting with Julian Alcaraz’s meal prep business, Fierro’s Kitchen. I really never considered myself as a software consultant but this opportunity basically fell in my lap. So far, I’ve helped automate emails, normalizing email templates, on boarding new customers, collecting orders, manipulating data, and creating/managing their new website. I used MailChimp for email automation, google forms/sheets for orders, and of course WordPress for their website. I bought the domain through GoDaddy. I have the email mostly set up and handling payments is soon to come. There is still much to do to and I have more ideas in the works. I’ve had a handful of headaches and jumped through quite a few hoops through this process. I plan to post more about this in the future. I’m excited to be a small part of their company’s growing success.
I’ve said this before, but I believe that having New Year’s resolutions are a marvelous idea. What’s not to like about trying to better one’s self? The only thing is that I don’t agree with is that they MUST start on New Years day. Why can’t they start today, or March 4, or July 8? Any day will do with enough will power and determination. Therefore this blog is really a digital journal for my thoughts, ideas, beliefs, projects, and really anything else I deem fit. This is of course a public facing blog and I have my reputation to uphold so don’t get any ideas…ya filthy animals 😉
In the upcoming days and weeks I have several different aspects of my life that I’d like to share here. Some examples would be:
- Resume/Cover Letter for new career opportunities
- Web Programming
- Technology consulting
- My Fitness Journey
- Goals I plan to achieve in the near and not so near future
- Weaknesses that shall and will be overcome
- Probably a whole lot more
As you can see this post will be the first of many and I’m excited to see where this goes. The last time I had a journal was nearly a decade ago and I clearly was a much different person then. This site is a work in progress and it probably will never be ‘done’. Feel free to contact me through social media or on my contact page to share your thoughts. I should really be spending time with my loved ones and family now!
Thanks for reading and have a Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday!! 🙂
